Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey
As we have continued to monitor the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) has regretfully decided to cancel all outreach and events that are currently planned, including the in-person 15 Minute Child Breaks.
However, as we are aware that the substance use and abuse prevention conversation must continue, we are pleased to offer you a digital version of the presentation and resource page that can be viewed by all of the members of the community.
To view the pre-recorded 15 Minute Child Break, please visit TalkNowNJ.com.
We recognize this health crisis merits your immediate attention. However, as communities throughout New Jersey have taken the appropriate steps to postpone events and restrict contact through social distancing in the midst of the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), it's important to remember that substance use disorder and the prevention of misuse and abuse cannot simply be postponed or quarantined.
This issue continues to take lives and inflict pain and suffering on New Jersey families and communities. It is vital, especially during this difficult time, that we continue to share information and hold important discussions to prevent substance use. In fact, with students staying at home, many of them unsupervised, and the recent surge in e-cigarette use and vaping, we now have an even greater obligation to raise awareness on this issue. Additionally, as parents will be spending more time at home, the next few weeks offers us a unique opportunity to reach out and educate them.
If you would like to reschedule an in-person 15 Minute Child Break in Fall 2020, please contact Dorothy Carnivale at firstname.lastname@example.org.
