Susan and Steven Darien Family Fund

Susan Darien, a former board member of JFS, and her husband Steven, established this fund to help promote the programs and services at JFS that help frail older adults, including elderly holocaust survivors, to “age in place” in the dignity of their own homes.

The Betty and Joe Harris Memorial Fund

This fund was established by Kathy and Steve Harris in memory of Steve's parents, Betty and Joe Harris. Steve is a Past President of JFS and Kathy was a long-time volunteer of the agency.

The fund is intended as a legacy of the lifelong concern for those in need in the community by the Harris'.

This fund will be used to help sustain and support frail seniors, including holocaust survivors, to remain in the community, in their own homes with community supports to match their needs.

These funds will primarily be used to address food insecurity, emergency assistance, and case management services.

The Evan Jaffe Memorial Fund

Supporting the Emergency Assistance and Hebrew Free Loan Programs

This fund is named for Rabbi Evan Jaffe, the long time rabbi of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, founding member of the Hebrew Free Loan program, and longtime supporter of the JFS Emergency Assistance Fund to honor his memory as someone who was always helping those in need.

The JFS Emergency Assistance Fund helps to provide food and other necessities to those in need in our community and the Hebrew Free Loan Program provides no interest loans to community members, who are struggling financially, when no other options are available.

The Nancy L. and Arthur E. Lee Special Needs Family Fund

Nancy Lee, a past president and longtime supporter of JFS, along with her husband Arthur, have established this fund to support the Special Needs programs and services offered at JFS.

With Nancy's background in special education and a lifelong interest in the struggles of families with special needs, this fund supports social learning groups, parent and sibling support groups, and an adult social club to enhance the lives of special need individuals and their families.

The Betty and Arthur Roswell Counseling Center

Betty Roswell, a founder and past president of JFS, along with her husband Arthur, established this fund to ensure that mental health counseling would be affordable and available to all those in need in the community.

The Joyce Schulman Memorial Fund

This fund is supported by the Schulman and Lavitsky Families.

It is in memory of Joyce Schulman, who was a lifelong supporter of the Jewish Community, especially the services that helped those in need of basic subsistence, food, shelter, and clothing.

Her children established this fund to continue her legacy of Tikkun Olam.

The Sadie Sussman Fund

Penny and Claudio Pincus established this fund in memory of Penny's mother Sadie Sussman who was always interested in Jewish life and the needs of the elderly.

This fund is meant to perpetuate her values of helping those at the ‘other’ end of life to remain comfortably and safely in their own environments as long as possible with an emphasis on independent senior living.

This fund will provide support to enable seniors to age in place and remain in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

“Sadie was a very caring and kind person and this donation by her family will help seniors in our area to receive the help they need to remain at home” commented Marjorie Goldstein, a longtime friend of the family and a former board member of JFS.
